Nirmal Education & Welfare Trust

About Us

Nirmal Education and Welfare Trust(Neawt), Estd. 2023, started in the fond memory of Mr Nirmal Karmakar. We lost him on 28th January, 2023. He was a respectable businessman from Pandua, Hooghly who was always present for a person in need. He believed in the goodness of people, he was selfless in his actions and there was kindness in his words. We hope to keep his memory alive through this initiative.

Neawt is a nonprofit organisation which started its journey with the aim to bridge the gap between unemployment and employability through development of skills and personality. Our programmes will be designed to promote the livelihood opportunities through relevant education and practical implementation of those skills in a disciplined way, so that it helps an individual to thrive in our ever-evolving, fast paced world. We also aim to empower the people of our society to believe that one can build a life for themselves irrespective of their gender, caste, religion and financial status.

Our Initiative

Neawt will also focus on spreading awareness about certain issues related to women’s health, family planning, first aid education, nutrition, environmental changes, sustainability, financial literacy and other important issues that require our attention and knowledge. Right to knowledge is equal for everyone; we hope to facilitate the required information to those who are in need of it.

At Neawt, we also recognise the important role that art, culture, sports and other extra-curricular activities play towards the development of young individuals. These activities allows the growing minds to learn more about themselves and their interests. They make a way for one to make friends, improve their social skills and build teamwork skills. We hope to make new activities accessible to the young people from the underpriviledged part of our society to enhance their personality development that later on helps them in their careers.

A Note From

Our Founder

I have always believed that when we nurture people’s minds, they realise their true potentials. Growing up in the rural area of Pandua, Hooghly and now successfully running multiple companies have come with many challenges but have been made possible because of my courage to take risks and creative approach to problems.

My way of thinking is a result of my upbringing where I had a sense of responsibility as the oldest child and the freedom to have opinions. It was also a result of the inspiring mentors I found in my father, my mother, teachers, professors and several others who also taught me life lessons beyond the syllabus of school or degree.

Through Nirmal Education and Welfare Trust, I want to provide an environment for our students and people to thrive in and create awareness in matters which will improve the quality of life for our people residing in the backward areas. Matters in field of literacy, health, nutrition, sports, basic human rights and more.

Because I believe that everybody has a right to knowledge and we as an individual will develop when our community develops with us.”

Subarna Karmakar,
Chairman and Founder
